Italy produces some of our absolute favourite wines and this spring when we re-visited Piedmont, one of its three major wine regions we were instantly reminded why!
Situated in the north of Italy at the foot of the Alps, just a few hours drive from Morzine, this area offers a varied landscape and stunning scenery for miles around – it’s hard not to fall in love with it. Endless vineyards, row upon row of hazelnut trees and a backdrop of snow-capped mountains make this a particularly special place to grow some of the most delicious wines in the world (and on our list!).
If anyone has a doubt in their mind about skiing in Morzine this year because of poor snowfall records they need to have a serious re-think and take a look at this chart!
Last year Morzine and Avoriaz absolutely smashed it at the start of the season; when everyone else was struggling, we had over 100cm of snow on our upper pistes and Avoriaz managed to maintain one of the highest snow depths in France throughout the whole season.
We can never be absolutely certain what the weather is going to do but all the signs so far are pointing in exactly the right direction for a seriously good season this year! So stop worrying about it and book your next incredible Morgan Jupe skiing holiday now …

A visit to the Tuscan hills last month saw us enjoying some truly spectacular food, fantastic wines and breathtaking scenery. We can’t wait to go back next summer and do it all again when the weather is slightly warmer and the sun is shining continuously!
What we love so much about Italian cooking is the simplicity; using excellent produce and allowing the ingredients to largely speak for themselves. The best meal we had was in a tiny village, in the only open restaurant we could find at that time in the afternoon! We ate tomato bruschetta, followed by pasta, followed by lamb chops, followed by tiramisu, followed by grappa … Absolute perfection!
We are proud to use Land Rover Defenders to operate our complimentary in-resort chauffeur service throughout the winter months and our guests absolutely love the sense of adventure!
They are the safest, most practical and most reliable vehicles for the job; with space for eight passengers and all of the skis!

Natural wine has taken the market somewhat by storm recently as the we have all become increasingly concerned with our health and what we consume. Much more than just organic, natural wine is made only with ingredients which come directly from the vineyard itself, the intention being that the finished product is a true representation of the specific “terroir” in a specific year.
Both of our beautiful chalets are open from July – September for self-catered holidays and if you’ve never experienced the mountains in the summer then it’s about time you did!
